The company was established in 2004 by Herman McNelis, a Donegal Man who knows a trend when he sees one. Having worked previously in the family business, Herman established Dublin Decor, Ireland’s first painting and decorating company to achieve the ISO Quality seal. On a visit to Chicago Colour Glass caught his eye, and he was quick to snap up the Irish distribution rights. Since then he has made the company into a thriving business known for quality and excellence in its field, with many well known names using Colour Glass for their projects such as HKR architects, Habitat, The Shelbourne Hotel & Siematic Kitchens.

The Colour Glass team has become known for its innovative use in applications such as kitchen and bathroom splashbacks, glass countertops, glass partitions, glass nameplate signage with logos, as well as feature walls, as used in RTE’s “Showhouse”. According to Hermann “the use of Colour Glass for this programme has been so successful that the designers are again using our glass in the next series. Our customers tell us that Colour Glass can even help to sell a property, by injecting drama into that feature wall or enhancing the light reflecting qualities with an eye-catching kitchen splashback, exponentially increasing the sale. This is a versatile team whose comprehensive service spec. includes design, production and installation, and whose pursuit of excellence means they are constantly researching and employing new and sometimes unexplored techniques to achieve the required results. Their extensive experience translates into foresight and vision in transforming environments and adding that Wow factor to any project. Herman also recognises the quality prerequisites for kitchens and bathrooms requiring specialized solutions to withstand the wear and tear associated with these areas. A qualified Interior Designer is on board to offer advice in colour selection, backed by an installation team fully qualified in all areas of Colour Glass handling and processes, whose sensitive treatment of the material ensures that it will positively enrich the surroundings in which it is installed.
